Training

Training

Knowledge is an essential element for any meaningful and sustainable social change. As a result of Indago’s commitment to this statement, we want to contribute to the education and training of relevant stakeholders (business enterprises, public administrations and universities)  in issues relevant to guarantee human rights’ respect in the economic activity.

Our training programmes are adapted to the specific features of the target group and they cover a variety of essential topics in this field, such as the study of potential impacts linked to the business activity, the applicable legal framework both at national and international levels, the issue from an structural point of view (looking at the problem in the globalization context), as well as other important issues and approaches that can help to understand such a complex topic.

Training programs addressed to business enterprises guarantee the acquisition of knowledge and tools to apply the human rights-based approach to the management of their activity. Our training activities are mainly addressed to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which don’t receive the needed attention in these discussions despite their unquestionable weight in the global economy. We also address entities in the framework of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE). Despite having social objectives in their DNA, these entities may desire to dive in specific knowledge to enforce human rights respect at the maximum level.

For public administrations, these programs provide the tools enabling the inclusion of human rights’ respect in their contractual relationships and collaborations with private enterprises, in line with the requirements derived from the EU Directive 2014/24 of 26 February 2016 on public procurement.

University projects are aimed at introducing training on the business activity’s impacts on the human rights protection and promotion framework at a high education level as well as inviting analysis on the relevant regulatory options.

Indago’s educational approach concentrates essentially on offering rigorous information backed up by a steady and cutting-edge research activity on  the human rights-business topic. We seek to encourage critical thinking and social conscience among the involved actors, in order to contribute to the transformation towards a more equitable and fair economy.
